Endodontic Procedures
“ I’d rather have a …. than a root canal!”
Root canal procedures get a bad rap. They are often used to emphasize something you don’t want to do. Truth is, root canal procedures are generally pain free. The discomfort leading to needing a root canal often is not.
Teeth that are badly decayed or damaged due to trauma, may be extremely painful. After an examination, Dr. Davis and staff can discuss the extent of decay and choice to save the tooth or remove it and have it replaced. If the majority of the tooth is healthy, saving it with a root canal procedure and crown is usually the healthiest and least expensive solution.
Once the decision has been made to save the tooth, the root canal procedure is relatively pain free. The tooth is completely numbed and the soft tissue inside the canals removed. The canals are then disinfected and sealed to prevent future problems.
